Career Notes: Selected by the Atlanta Braves in the fourth round of the free
agent draft on June 3rd, 1985. On Atlanta disabled list from June 27th through
August 20th in 1991; included rehabilition assignment to Macon from August 16th to
the 20th...and on disabled list from April 12th to the 27th in 1992; June 2nd to the
17th in 1995 and May 16th in 1996 through the remainder of the season.
Records: Holds major league single-season record for fewest errors by outfielder
who led league in errors (8 in 1992)
Honors:
- Member of the basketball All-Catholic and All-American teams his senior year of
high school in 1982.
- Named N.L. Rookie Player of the Year by The Sporting News in 1990.
- Named N.L. Rookie of the Year by Baseball Writers' Association of America in 1990 as well.
- Named outfielder on The Sporting News N.L. All-Star team in 1993.
- Named outfielder on The Sporting News N.L. Silver Slugger Team in 1993
